Club Penguin NEW! Its Penguin Games

August 23, 2008 by clubpenguin99007

The Penguin Games have started! To start playing, click on the medal in the upper right.

The first race is the Marathon at the Ski Village. Start behind the starting line and wait for the countdown before you start racing. Then move along the track and STOP at every light and MAKE IT LIGHT UP.

If you miss one light, you’ll have to go back and get it or you won’t finish. The Marathon goes through several rooms: Ski Village>Beach>Dock>Town>Snow Forts>Plaza>Forest>Cove. Go past the finish line as far as I did in the picture once you’ve gotten all the lights.

The next race is the Three Lap Race at the Iceberg. It is the same idea: you have to hit all the lights. Sometimes the lights might not work very well, but they do work. Remember, you have to around the track THREE TIMES.

The last race is the Freestyle Swim at the Underground Pool. You must swim FIVE lengths of the Pool. Make sure you make the 2 lights go off EACH time you hit the end of the Pool.

The event display should automatically open when you have finished all 3 events. When it does, select Claim Prize.

Yay! You now have the Gold Medal!

Other Penguin Games News

The Red Face Paint free item is located at the Coffee Shop.

The Blue Face Paint is located at the Pizza Parlor.

If you Wave with just the Face Paint on, you will hold up a sign.

If you’re a member, you can get onto the Soccer Field from the Snow Forts. There are no free items there. It is just a soccer field to play around in. Click to enlarge.

The Penguin Games start tomorrow! There will be multiple free items, but you’ll have to play games to get them. The 3 main events are listed below. Gary the Gadget Guy will have a surprise to keep track of runners.

Members will be able to compete at the new soccer pitch at the Ice Rink.

Also, here’s a sneak peek of the Games tomorrow. It’s the Moose and Mullet in the Lodge, and they’re both wearing red/blue face paint. Perhaps the return of those 2 items?

A new, and perhaps important, Penguin Poll will be posted on Club Penguin tomorrow. I’ll give you all the info on that when it arrives.

Lastly, don’t forget to check out this week’s Penguin Times newspaper. There’s a pretty good article on Igloo-building there (which reminded me of strategies for my own igloo when I was a member. Pic here, and a cool In Focus: A Waddle Down Memory Lane.

Yay! BLUE TEAM has won the contest! Thanks everyone for voting in the poll. Blue team won by an enormous amount of votes. So I’d like to officially say that Fever will be routing for the BLUE TEAM for the Penguin Games, which starts tomorrow! Can’t wait!

Hey everyone!

The site went down around yesterday in the late evening. It was suspended because I had links to my CP Toolbar in my Cheats & Glitches and a couple of my old posts (which are now deleted). The toolbar was in violation of the WordPress rules because it was causing problems with some peoples computers. I am 85% sure that the problem was not the actual toolbar, but the Message and Chat features on the toolbar (which allowed people to message everyone who was using my toolbar). People were sending everyone messages telling them to “Go to these links”, which had malicious files and viruses in them.

For those of you who still have the toolbar in use right now, don’t worry! Once I heard about the problem, I immediately changed the layout of the toolbar entirely. Message, Chat, and Secret Chat features have been permanently removed. A direct subscription to CP’s Blog and my blog have been added, with new colors and pictures. Links have been updated, a weather button has been added, and an email notifier has been attached. You should have noticed this as soon as you opened your web browser, because it updates immediately. If you still feel it is unsafe, feel free to uninstall it.

The new toolbar is only available to those who downloaded it already. I will not provide links to it. Now the site is back up and everything is hopefully back to normal! ;)

Update: WordPress has told me to tell those with the toolbar to uninstall it.

Waddle on! Penguin Games tomorrow!

The Dodgeball pin is located on the right balcony of the Stage.

New Things!

August 13, 2008 by clubpenguin99007

Start by clicking the paper boat in the upper right corner. This gives you the details on the Scavenger Hunt.

The first paper boat is at the Mine in the box of water near the entrance.

The second paper boat is at the Cove in the bottom right, in the water.

The third paper boat is at the Coffee Shop. It is located in the green pot that’s behind the desk where they serve Coffee.

The fourth paper boat is at the Beach. It is hidden in the black rocks on the shore.

The fifth paper boat is at the Pool. It is floating in the window.

The sixth paper boat is at the Pet Shop. It is on the green, pet tray right outside where you can play Puffle Round-Up.

The seventh paper boat is at the Dock. It is floating beside the wooden dock, near Hydro hopper.

The last paper boat is located at the Iceberg. It is floating in the water right under Aqua Grabber.

Click on the paper boat in the upper right corner of your screen again. Then select ‘Build the Blueprint’. Here’s the finished blueprints.

You will get a message from Rory. Select ‘Claim Prize’.

You will receive a Blueprints background to show off to penguins online!

On another note, the Beijing Olympics kick off today (8/8/08 ) at 8:08 PM.

If you want to meet RH, get his background, or are just bored, try the RH Finding Guide for some help on tracking him.

Rockhopper has arrived! Go to the Beach. Get on his ship. Go down to the Ship Hold. Open the paper in the bottom right. Get the free Brown Pirate Boots item, available to nonmembers! I’m glad they chose a shoe item and didn’t bring back an old item. )

There is a hidden item in the shop. Click the Steering Wheel to buy the Life Ring furniture item.

They’re having bugs with the Treasure Hunt game, located in RH’s Quarters. It’ll be back up and running ASAP.

Also, the play “Team Blue’s Rally 2″ is now at the Stage. The Switchbox 3000 is missing. Maybe they’re gonna use it for something else. There is a new background for nonmembers in the Costume Catalog.

If you throw a snowball at the Stage, it turns into a dodgeball. So go on the Stage and pick a color (red/blue) and have a snowball-I mean, dodgeball fight!

Some NEW Things!

August 2, 2008 by clubpenguin99007

In just a few days, the new level of Aqua Grabber comes out. Here is the expanded pic of last week’s sneak peek of the game. Looks like it wasn’t a Green puffle after all! It was a monster!

The Music Jam party ends August 5th, so make sure to check out all these cool things before the party ends:

  • Giant instruments at the Dojo that play only when you step on tile in front
  • Icicles that sound like xylophones when you touch them in the Mines (not Mine Shack)
  • Floor piano in the Underground Pool (flip the green switch when penguins are on it)
  • Music stages that plays only if someone is on them
  • Big stage that changes music/theme each day (Dock)
  • AND… The Dance Lounge: Hit the green switch to change the big background. Click it until you see the music notes. See if you can figure out which game the music is from!

The Vinyl Record pin is located in the Night Club. Walk near the green puffle, Keeper.

Backgrounds – for Nonmembers too

There are four “new” backgrounds in the catalog. Three of them are old ones that have returned. One is brand new. Nonmembers can buy these too.

Last but not least, Rockhopper’s ship, The Migrator, is visible in the Telescope at the Beacon again.

The following thanks to Lilacbob: There are 3 new Band postcards you can send.

Let’s start with all the upcoming Club Penguin events.

First off, the Band is on break again. Which means if you’re a member, you can get go Backstage for a free autographed background! Here’s how to get Backstage and how to meet the Band.

Next, we finally know what game the level update is gonna be on. Aqua Grabber! On August 5th, the vessel will be grabbing many valuable gems other than pearls and venturing far deeper under the surface to face many new, unfriendly sea creatures. New divers are also needed to clean up an accidental cream soda spill.

Team Blue’s Rally will be back at the Stage on August 8th. This time, they’ll be facing Team Red!

The ‘Best Ways to Earn Coins’ Tip in the newspaper is by Happy77, who was/is a CP Mod. He says Puffle Round-Up is the best money maker. I don’t think that’s true though.

Finally, here are the answers to G’s Word Search in the newspaper. All the words are inventions of Gary’s.

The Clothing Catalog comes out this Friday. Here’s a sneak peek. It looks like a rubber-band bracelet, and checkered shoes/shirts/flags/cars for a Racing theme.

Also, due to requests, the Music Jam Party has been extended until August 5th.

The new game level will be updated sometime after the party.

Unfortunately, the Club Penguin band are back on stage at the Iceberg to perform. I hope you met them while they were Backstage!

Also, I have just updated the History of CP. So take a look if you want!

The Club Penguin Band has been taking a break from the stage at the Iceberg. They’ve been hanging out Backstage (in the VIP section of the Dock) giving out a new background, like Rockhopper! Each member will be on a random, different server Backstage. Good luck searching! I suggest looking through the populated servers first. Click on the buddy button to get the autographed background.

Here’s what the background looks like. Unfortunately, it’s members only.

New DJ sneek peek

July 23, 2008 by clubpenguin99007

Club Penguin changed the picture. The color of the penguin has changed (probably to avoid confusion about a new color), the lighting has darkened, and “DJ3K” has been added to the bottom(probably to avoid confusion on the name of the DJ and/or because 3K = 3000, which would be like the Switchbox 3000 or Pizzatron 3000, invented by G). And one of the rumors/ideas circulating around lately is being able to use the music you create in your igloo. I can’t wait for this new game (coming THIS Friday)!

Some NEW things!!!

July 22, 2008 by clubpenguin99007

Ever since Club Penguin began (but not during Penguin Chat), the DJ table stood at the Night Club. CP always wanted to make it somehow more fun and interactive, but never got around to it. Until now. This Friday, with the launch of Music Jam ‘08, we’re introducing CP’s first music-making game!

Thanks to Jandm2: The Night Club is under construction but if you look in the screen in the HQ, the Night Club is NOT under construction.

Thanks to Classycourt9: The puffle is in the Ice Rink until the Construction at the Night Club is over, July 25th.

Country Room Sneak Peek and A Farewell to CPIP

Here’s a sneak peek at the upcoming July Party, the Music Jam. It looks like each room might have a different genre of music. So I guess this is the Country Music Room. The party will arrive next Friday. There’s gonna be even more music-themed stuff coming our way, including a new game (Check post below)!

And the Club Penguin Improvement Project Blog will be closing down for good next week. They want to send a huge thank you for everyone’s help, support, and feedback. It was definitely a fun ride.

Pin, Furniture Catalog Secrets, and a New Game

The Treble Clef Pin is located at the Pool.

Here are the Furniture Catalog Secrets/Cheats.

Click the Upright Piano for the Guitar Stand

Click the Coffee Shop Tree for the Vegetable Garden

Click the leaves of the Palm Tree for the Flower Planter

Click the Seaweed for the Clam

There is also new igloo music available. To play music, have a stereo or jukebox set up in your igloo.

Also, the Night Club is being reconstructed for the upcoming New DJ Music Game! If you hover your mouse over the ‘Fragile’ box, the DJ equipment comes to life. So grab your hardhats and jackhammers and get into action!

Everything has a music theme this week. It’s pretty cool.

And lastly, here is the NEW Walk on Pathways Glitch/Cheat: A pathway is somewhere where when you usually go, it’ll take you to another place on the map, such as the right/left pathways next to the Town. However, with this cheat, you won’t be taken to another map. First, click on the part of the pathway you want to go to. Now while you’re still walking, click the Penguin Mail envelope at the top left. Stay in the P-Mail thing, viewing your postcards/mail, until you think you have stopped walking. Then exit P-Mail and you are standing on a pathway! Now you can dance, talk, whatever!

A Warning To My Buddies

Update: A few people have been getting really mad at the ‘Warning’ Post. Why? First off, I have a full list now! I can’t get anymore buddies! I buddied everyone who asked. I spent a whole day accepting requests. Then logged in the next day and they were all gone! As for unbuddying people who block me or talk while I’m taking pictures or complain that I’m not talking when I’m really busy, I already gave a warning on CP and on here! I haven’t unbuddied anyone yet so please don’t make me.

First off, a warning to those who became my buddies: A lot of the time I go onto CP to do stuff like take pictures or something else for this site. If I say I’m Busy, then please do not follow me/block the place for where I’m taking the picture. I will be forced to unbuddy you and log out. This will be my only warning.

Also, very importantly, I’d like to say that I have experimented with a bunch of penguins on buddying and it seems once you reach around 200 buddies with the glitch, you can’t get anymore (they get deleted when you log back in and/or the person who says ‘Yes’ to the request won’t show up as a buddy on the list of the requester). Which means I wasted a whole day accepting every request to find out they weren’t my buddies the next day. So I’d like to apologize to anyone who wasn’t able to be my buddy.

Lastly, there’s a new ‘feature’ I want to share:

FEATURE/GLITCH #20 - Full rooms – Rooms do not get full easily/ Don’t get full no matter how many people.

Some Quick CP News

Tomorrow, new igloo music and a furniture catalog will be released. A new pin will also be hidden.

Next week, from July 25-30, there will be a Music Jam at the Iceberg. Bands, DJ’s, and any musicians are invited. So get practicing!

Buddy Glitch: It seems no matter how many people I buddy/accept (and even if I send each of them postcards), when I log out and log back in, I always drop back down to 200 or so buddies. And the people I buddied aren’t on my list anymore. I am still experimenting with this glitch.

NEW FEATURES ARE HERE!

Update: Make sure you check the post again. I have updated and added some info for some of the features.

Club Penguin has finally launched a whole bunch of new features!

FEATURE #1 - New Server Selection – First off, you have to retype in all your information because your saved data for log-in was probably erased. The first thing I noticed was the orange sign that said “Please do not save password in a school or library computer” had changed. And when you log in with an already saved penguin, the penguin loads his/her clothing differently. As for the actual server selection, it groups your Suggested Servers by which you go on most and the ones your buddies are on. CP also changed it so that all the servers are grouped alphabetically and they took out the countries. That’s not something I like the best. We might have to do another server swap from Flippers. I’ll think about it once things settle down. But for now, I’m still going on Flippers as much as possible.

FEATURE #2 - Penguin Mail – The most obvious one to get to next, of course! It’s located on the upper left of the screen when you log in. P-Mail allows you to save, delete, or reply to postcards sent to you by your buddies. You can also send postcards to your buddies even if they’re not online. The envelope on the top left also displays a number for the amount of unread postcards. If the envelope has a smiley face, it’s a buddy request. And the layout that displays all the postcards you can send has now changed. I would definitely rather have it so that you can send postcards to any penguin you want, online or offline, just as long as they don’t have a full mailbox. I’ve only gotten around 5 postcards total so far.

Also, there’s a free item you can get. Go to the very first postcard you have. Click on the blue bag. You will get a Blue Messenger Bag that you can wear! Penguins created after the update do not get the bag.

FEATURE #3 - Playercard Sort – To begin with, CP made it so that ALL your items are now in one tab, not two. They used to group it so that your clothing items and medals would be in one tab. And your colors, pins, and backgrounds in another. I liked the old method better. However, it is easier to find clothing items using the new format by just using the Playercard Sort to just jump to your type of item.

FEATURE #4 - Igloo Background – This is one of the updates that I like with no drawbacks whatsoever. The igloo is given a nice, foresty background rather than the blank, bland, and white background even members had to have. The forest goes away in Edit Mode. And the ‘Done’ icon has been replaced with a ‘Save Igloo’ disk icon.

OTHER NEW FEATURES

FEATURE #5 - Member Igloos Map – When you click on the Members Igloos on the Map, it expands to the map below. Displaying all the igloos available and their owners’ names when you hover your mouse over one. Unlike before, there is probably a maximum number of igloos per server. Update: CP has announced they will make it so you can view the members igloos in a list too if you want to. It’ll be available in the future.

FEATURE #6 - Spyphone – The spyphone is now located in your bottom left, if you’re a secret agent. It allows you to teleport, play with the Tools, and Visit the HQ, just like in a mission.

FEATURE #7 - Green Puffle – The Green Puffle has left the Night Club and is now playing around in the Ice Rink. And with the Green Puffle constantly playing with the puck, no one can play Hockey! I wonder why they did this? Update: CP has announced that this feature will be temporary. The rink will be back to normal, so enjoy the Puffle while he’s here. You will be able to play Hockey once again in the future.

FEATURE #8 - Buddy Log-In – If a buddy logs into the server you’re in when you’re in Club Penguin, a dialog box will pop out of the Buddy button in your toolbar that says “[Buddy's Name here] is online”

FEATURE #9 - Puffle Mail – It looks like your puffle can send you mail too. And when you adopt a puffle, they send you a postcard. In the pic below, Watex is my puffle’s name.

FEATURE/BUG #10 - Blank Chat – If you press the spacebar and then enter, you’ll get a blank chat bubble.

FEATURE #11 - Puffle Stats – You can no longer see the puffles’ stats or name of another penguin’s igloo.

FEATURE #12 - Sled Racing/Find Four/Mancala List – The loading list has changed slightly when you’re waiting for players.

FEATURE #13 - Finding a Buddy – The ‘Find Buddy’ button on your buddy’s playercard has changed to a question mark.

FEATURE/GLITCH #14 - Reading the Paper Backwards – First, sit sideways, face up, or dance. Then open your newspaper. You’ll be reading it all wrong or not reading it at all. Go to the Dojo to see yourself doing this while reading the newspaper.

FEATURE/GLITCH #15 - Talking – (Thanks to Katy817) If someones talking behind you and your speech bubble is blocking theirs, no matter how much they talk, it won’t come in front of your own speech bubble.

FEATURE/GLITCH #16 - UNLIMITED BUDDIES - Probably my favorites glitch. For that reason, I’ve been on Flippers Dock for a long time now, accepting almost anyone who requests to buddy me! Update on Buddy Glitch: It seems no matter how many people I buddy/accept (and even if I send each of them postcards), when I log out and log back in, I always drop back down to 200 or so buddies. And the people I buddied aren’t on my list anymore.

FEATURE/GLITCH #17 - Ski Hill – The Mountain is now called Ski Hill when you hover your cursor over it on the Map. However, when you go to it, it says ‘Loading Mountain’

FEATURE/GLITCH #18 - Zoom in – If you right click anywhere at anytime, then select Zoom in, you can zoom in to view ultra large penguins. You can click, hold, and drag to move around.

FEATURE/GLITCH #19 - Nonchat servers – You CAN chat on Nonchat servers.

FEATURE/GLITCH #20 - Full rooms – Rooms do not get full easily/ Don’t get full no matter how many people.

Club Penguin New Features Launch Today!

Update: The CP team is squashing a few more bugs they’ve just found. So it’ll take a little longer before the game is back up and running. Thank you for your patience!

Club Penguin is currently installing the four new features. A segment of the site is down (so it can update), so you won’t be able to log in at the Play screen (http://play.clubpenguin.com/down/index.html). Once the play-site is back up, the features will be there. The update could take up to an hour. If you log in, and they’re still not there, try clearing your cache (CP’s Help Section tells you how).

Look for:

  • Updated igloo background (Forest behind your igloo)
  • Penguin Mail (Click on the envelope at top left to try out)
  • Server selection (New Buddy log-in system, noticeable as soon as you log in)
  • Playercard Sort (On the playercard)

Also, if you click the penguin that appears on the ‘Site is down’ link (given above), the penguin will change clothes and color.

Club Penguin Game for the Nintendo DS!!

A long time ago, I said there might possibly be an upcoming Club Penguin game for the Nintendo DS because of a Penguin Poll question about it. Well, I was right!

In the DS Game, you’ll be part of the Elite Penguin Force and solve mysteries that even secret agents don’t even know about. You’ll also be able to play your favorite minigames and upload your coins and other rewards into your Club Penguin account. The game is expected to be ready by the holiday season.

A New Game Sneak Peek

A new game is headed our way in Club Penguin for the end of the month. Billybob said it’ll be a game you’ll like, “especially if you’re into music.” Here is the concept art sneak peek. It looks like a penguin flipper moving the disc that DJ’s usually spin. Maybe it’s in the Night Club!

The Return of Squidzoid at the Stage!

“Squidzoid vs. Shadow Guy & Gamma Gal” has returned to the Stage. The scenery is almost the same except for the new version of Squidzoid, which looks much cooler than the old one, a new script, and a different advertisement on the billboard.

There are no secrets in the Costume Trunk Catalog.

However, there is a brand, new background for nonmembers in the catalog.

Feature Launch Postponed until Next Week

The Club Penguin team recently discovered some major bugs with the new features that will take a couple days to fix. So the new plan is to have the features ready to launch by early next week.

Puffle-So-Cute-O Answers and Peculiar Pin

The puzzle in Newspaper Issue 143 on July 10, 2008 is Puffle-So-Cute-O.

It is like a Sudoku. You have to make each puffle color appear only once in every column, row, and 3×2 box. Here is the solution. I suggest only using it when you have trouble.

And the Fireworks pin, currently located at the Cove, looked familiar when I first saw it. Now I know why! It’s the same Rocket as the Rocket Snail of Penguin Chat 3, Rocket Snail’s site, and the little snail on top of the one of the old Club Penguin sections! Check it out.

If you don’t know, the Medieval Igloo Contest starts today. CP has changed the prizes: Now TWENTY winners will be selected, besides 10. The Top Ten win 25,000 coins, and the rest win 15,000 coins. I believe their names and igloos will also be in the newspaper.

Here are some tips the judges gave: As Creative as possible, Medieval-Themed, Variety of old and new furniture, will not be based on how many coins you spent on it.
